Hi! My name is Olivia Halevy and I graduated from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont in the Spring of 2017 with a degree in Media Journalism and Digital Arts, and a minor in Literature. I have worked at Patch.com, an online news publication based in New York City, for five years as the Assistant Editor of Lifestyle Content and the Senior Branded Content Editor. More recently, I've been freelancing at a variety of publications. Read some of my latest content here.
About Me
Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion for writing. When I began my studies in Journalism, I quickly learned that I enjoyed the creative writing and storytelling aspects of the field. Pair that with my knowledge of social media, editing skills and interest in the latest fashion, interior design and pop culture trends and I knew lifestyle writing was where I would thrive.
When I began my career at Patch, I was responsible for creating timely and seasonal lifestyle content on topics such as holidays, travel, interior design, entertainment, food and drink. I also created e-commerce articles through Patch's affiliate partnership with Amazon highlighting a wide variety of topics and products, as well as curating and writing Patch's holiday gift guides. I've also assisted in writing and updating articles and commerce deals during Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, helping Patch surpass their goal in revenue.
In 2020, I shifted over to Patch's Branded Content Team and began working on campaigns with Patch's enterprise clients including Ring, GoodRx, Newrez, FTD, Thumbtack and more. Some of my responsibilities included writing and brainstorming custom content for the brands, creating content calendars, communicating with clients and account managers, meeting tight deadlines and handling content promotion across the site. While Lifestyle and Branded Content are considered to be different forms of writing, I feel confident that I've honed both these styles of writing over the years and would enjoy a career in either area.
Growing up, I was a competitive figure skater. From ages 5-17, I passed 16 figure skating tests and received a double gold medal from the United States Figure Skating Association. Being so involved in the sport taught me a lot of life skills like dedication, balance, and time management — all skills that I have applied and continue to apply to both my personal life and professional career.
On a more personal level, I currently live in Morristown, NJ with my fiancé Nick and my dog Gus. Some of my favorite hobbies include walking around my neighborhood, shopping, cooking, traveling, trying different restaurants, reading, watching new TV shows and spending time with friends and family.
